Job Description

  • Lead policy development, syndication and implementation through analysis and written proposals detailing financial impact analysis and operational execution, balancing business needs and effective risk management
  • Deliver innovative and in-depth analytics that drive enhanced, profit based, credit risk strategies
  • Analyze and define methodologies to prioritize collection and recovery efforts by developing risk based collection strategies.
  • Evaluate all channel strategies for collections and build an optimization strategy to leverage low cost/self serve tools where appropriate based on customer behavior/risk.
  • Determine the appropriate vendor strategy based on industry best practices and analysis of the value based on stream.
  • Determine appropriate program offers by evaluating settlement thresholds, renegotiated trends and desired customer treatment based on risk.
  • Manage and/or source new decision engines within DMMFO to ensure they are built to support the future business strategy.
  • Manage end-to-end MIS production and ad-hoc analytics as required. Provide commentary on key trends and ensure prompt escalation of early warning triggers or signs of deterioration within the portfolio
  • Partner with Loss Forecasting and ALLL teams to maintain and update internal forecasting processes to ensure effective budgeting of credit losses and reserving requirements
  • Lead all efforts related to the line management process including conceptual syndication with the business, strategy development, , and tracking & monitoring program performance
  • Ensure the robustness of models and alignment to portfolio trends by monitoring and tracking performance metrics such as observed PD and LGDs for key portfolios by working closely with the Basel modeling team
  • Lead the development, implementation and execution of a comprehensive framework to address End of Draw (EOD) / End of Term (EOT) emerging risk events
  • Manage and develop a high-performing and engaged workforce

Job Requirements

* Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance or Statistics. Masters or advanced degree preferred.

* Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in Credit Risk environment
  • Candidate ideally will have broad based business experience and exposure to risk management of a consumer credit product.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to conduct trending and comparative analysis are a must.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques such as regression analysis, decision trees, etc
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, SAS, SQL is required
  • Proven ability to balance the risk/reward equation and drive profitable growth within defined risk boundaries
  • Display the ability to function as part of a cross-functional business team

* Preferred:

  • Experience in the development of strategies leveraging analytics in Collections and Recovery
  • Exposure to Retail Residential Mortgage and any combination of other product suites a plus
  • Prior experience directly pulling and analyzing data for the purposes of influencing business strategy.
  • Minimum 10+ years of banking or financial services experience.
